What's the difference
between standard strip (3 tab) shingles and
laminated? Laminated shingles
are strip shingles containing more than one layer
of tabs to create extra thickness. They are also
referred to as three-dimensional shingles or
architectural style shingles. In recent years
laminated shingles have become increasingly popular
with homeowners seeking a custom look. These
multi-layered shingles are thicker than standard
shingles, and also have shadowing for an enhanced
three-dimensional aspect. They are offered in a
wide variety of colors and styles, including tile,
wood shake, and slate look-a likes. Laminated shingles
can be the best choice for roofing over existing
shingles, as their rougher texture and increased
thickness give a more pleasing cosmetic appearance
than a standard shingle can, and at a very
reasonable price. We can supply you
with many brochures for additional information and
color
choices. |
